Field Sales Engineer - Texas

The position is responsible for sales growth of Baumer's products within the assigned territory (Texas). As an expert in automation technology, become a trusted partner to our customers for guiding the selection of the appropriate sensor for their application. Help maintain our competitive position in the market by sharing market insights (industry trends, new products) with product management.

What I do

  • Promote and sell Baumer products within the assigned territory (Texas)
  • Prospect, develop and secure new customers to expand Baumer's market share.
  • Nurture relationships at existing accounts to maintain and expand our share there
  • As an expert in automation technology, become a trusted partner to our customers for guiding the selection of the sensors for their application
  • Prepares account plans, sales forecast and targets for approval
  • Perform customer visits and follow up on assigned leads

What I need for it

  • 4 years degree (technical degree preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in outside technical sales or relevant professional experience
  • Knowledge of B2B selling
  • Knowledge of the industrial market(s) including factory automation
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (i.e. PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • Willingness to travel domestically (35% +)

  • Sales hunter: customer proactive outreach, cold calling
  • Exceptional customer focus: ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted
  • Negotiation skills
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
